It's time for another logbook entry. A lot has happened.

#1: MOVE

The $NERDBUDE and all its offshoots have now completely moved to their own NixOS server and are running stable so far. *PARTY* It took a while and I had to make time for it, which is why it's been a bit quiet here recently. I have documented the entire process of the move here in the series "HIY - Host it yourself" ( #1, #2, #3, #4) and hopefully recorded it in such a way that everyone can understand it and, above all, can do it themselves, because NixOS is great and is also a lot of fun as a server OS. The infrastructure is now in place and can be expanded. For example, I don't have a GIT server running yet. But that will all come later and will also be recorded here.

#2: DESIGN

There are supposed to be people who actually read this (... and I'm still surprised and very happy about it). You readers should have noticed that the $NERDBUDE looks different now. With the last step of the move to the NixOS server, I also restructured the $NERDBUDE a bit. Firstly, there is a new design. Still kept minimalistic, so that you can even view the $NERDBUDE in Lynx with almost the same behavior. But there are also a few new features in terms of content. I released the English version of the $NERDBUDE a year ago. However, it was an enormous effort to translate the posts here into English and according to statistics, the English versions were hardly used at all. So I'm sticking with the language in which I can express myself best and that is German - so the English version is no longer available.

In the header area of each post there is a revised info block with title, subtitle, category, release date, edit date and the author. Everything in a nice terminal look. I hope you like it as much as I do.

There is also a new font to match the layout. After ~8 years I have parted ways with ShareTechMono (or the Nerdfont derivative) and switched everything to the wonderful Berkeley Mono. Yes, the font costs money, but it is worth every cent and performs wonderfully (at least for me) on all devices and also here in the $NERDBUDE.

#3: HACKER KULTUR

The time I have freed up through the restructuring will of course not be wasted but used for other projects. This is how the podcast HACKER KULTUR was created over the last few weeks. A podcast about wonderful projects, people, hackspaces and so on. More information can be found here: www.hacker-kultur.de. The first issue and the first two episodes are already out. In HK001 I talk to RAMSES REVENGEDAY and KAISERKIWI about the Fediverse and the best Mastodon instance in the world - the Cortex Implant (CORTEXIMPLANT.COM). HK002 is about the MAG.LAB. A hackspace in Fulda. Here INK and FOOKER answer my questions about what they do there. HK003 will be coming soon.

#4: EVERYTHING ELSE

Of course there will be a few new projects here in the future. One is already in the starting blocks - but more on that later. There will be fun devices, software projects, the [CYBER23] color scheme will be further expanded. and so on and so forth.

So it will stay exciting.
