I thought long and hard about whether I should write about it or not. As you can read here, I decided on the former. But I'll keep it short. Everyone has heard that Musk bought Twitter. The result: popcorn cinema at its finest. Former Twitter employees who set up their own Mastodon instance, 2FA turned off because Musk said it was silly, mass layoffs, Mastodon instances marked as harmful links on Twitter, contradictions and so on. Normal corporate stuff. In short - Twitter is burning and is racing against a new wall every day. You can read about everything that's going on on Twitter elsewhere.

The good thing about it - Mastodon and thus the Fediverse is growing. I think Holm put it very well:



Everything feels new, is decentralized, open source, offers endless possibilities and doesn't bombard you with ads that are just blocked anyway. Pure fluff.

What happens next?

It feels increasingly "weird" to use Twitter and change is important. So my Twitter streams are gradually being phased out. PH_0x17 is the first to start. That will no longer be phased out from now on. The NERDBUDE and the Click! Clack! Hack! will follow.

I have met a lot of lovely, nice people on Twitter and hope to see you again on Mastodon (luckily many of you are already there :) ). So here are all the Mastodon profiles you need to know:
